I have been an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner at MD Anderson Cancer Center in the Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery Department for over ten years. I've worked at MD Anderson since 2006. I participate on numerous departmental and organizational committees at MD Anderson.
I earned my Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing from Tennessee State University in 1996, my Master of Science in Nursing at Vanderbilt University in 2001, and my Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Texas Health Cizik School of Nursing on May 5, 2023. I have scholarly interests in enhanced recovery after thoracic surgery, opioid stewardship, and postoperative pain management. I serve TNA on the Leadership Succession Committee for the 2023 – 2025 term and the AANP Acute Care SIG as co-chair of the online community for the 2023 - 2025 term. I look forward to more professional advocacy activities now that I completed my doctoral studies.
In my spare time, I love to read, listen to music, attend live musicals, run/walk outdoors, and watch crime shows/movies. I also volunteer through my sorority, church, and the Houston Humane Society.
